Overview
This project involved revitalizing and standardizing a fragmented design system for a SaaS provider. The goal was to create a cohesive digital experience across all products and platforms by unifying core components and establishing a centralized Figma-based design library. Due to confidentiality agreements (NDA), specific details regarding the client and certain features are anonymized.
Impact: The project resulted in improved brand consistency, enhanced user experience, increased development efficiency, and a scalable foundation for future digital product growth.
Establishing project requirements
Many organizations face the challenge of design systems that evolve organically over time. This resulted in a fragmented digital experience across its products and platforms. Numerous variations of core components: buttons, input fields, typography, created inconsistencies that impacted brand perception, user experience, and development efficiency. This lack of cohesion hindered innovation and slowed down product delivery cycles.
Gathering insights and problem solving
As part of the design team, I was tasked with addressing this fragmentation and establishing a more consistent and scalable design system. My approach centered on a rigorous analysis of existing components, collaborative stakeholder engagement, and a thoughtful redesign process focused on unification and flexibility.
The initial phase involved a comprehensive audit of all digital touchpoints to catalog component variations and identify underlying patterns. Through interviews with product owners and observation of user interactions, I gained critical insights into the pain points caused by these inconsistencies. My strategy prioritized creating a unified design language while accommodating necessary functional differences, consolidating redundant components into versatile versions with thoughtfully designed variants to cover diverse use cases.
Creating a high-fidelity prototype
I meticulously documented existing component variations, creating a detailed inventory that served as the foundation for redesign efforts. This involved identifying common patterns and pinpointing areas of divergence.
Based on established best practices and accessibility guidelines, I redesigned key components to ensure visual consistency and user-friendliness. The focus was on creating modular, reusable elements adaptable to various contexts.
The revitalized components were meticulously documented within Figma, establishing a centralized source of truth for designers and developers. This included detailed specifications for appearance, behavior, and accessibility considerations.

This project demonstrated the power of a well-defined design system to elevate brand perception, improve user experience, and drive operational efficiency, ultimately contributing to a more cohesive and scalable digital ecosystem.
